David Roemhildt

I was born with Spinal bifida, and it has left me being paraplegic permanently.
With the disability, it limits opportunities of me being able to participate in regular sports. Until one day The Chairmen adaptive sports program reached out, and it all started from the first practice, to many court games competition, then it was my first NWBA Nationals in March, 2023. now approaching my 3rd year in this sport. I enjoy all the athleticism and competition this sport brings. This sport has helped me stay and further on building of physical and mentally healthy and strong. None more than the fellowship I much appreciate around me.
There's a well known quote from Ali krieger:
"there's always room for improvement." As a team we all learn from each other and consistently push each other to be better. There's never a limit when it comes to learning and improvement. I am still young, I have long years ahead of me in this sport. Since the day I decided to touch a basketball, I've made the commitment of pushing hard and perform. I will never be perfect, but there's always room for improvement. I am excited as time comes and what wheelchair basketball has in store for me.
